The National Association for the Defense of Rights and Freedoms strongly condemns the insult for the women of Egypt
The National Association for the Defense of Rights and Freedoms – Egypt strongly condemns the insult and contempt for the women of Egypt. On his personal account, he mocked the Egyptian women, regardless of their different political opinions, and said: “It is said that a Sisi woman is a female for hundred men, but non-Sisi woman equals hundred men.” Those words that insult all women in Egypt just because they have different political opinions, and this is considered intrusion. on political freedom, contempt on the basis of gender, and racial discrimination against women who disagree with political opinion, whoever they are, which affects the dignity of women in Egypt and is an incitement against them, as matters that affect honor and morals are thorny issues and are an explicit and clear incitement against all Egyptian women who disagree with him in opinion, He also violated all international conventions and agreements that stipulate the principle of public freedoms for individual and non-discrimination or spreading hatred and that cannot be allowed to pass without real accountability.
What is said against women in Egypt is not different than what happen to women in Afghanistan after Taliban took control of the country where women suffer discrimination and hatred based on gender, so we must face these minds, which do not respect women, because they certainly are an inseparable part of the campaign of systematic terrorism against women in Egypt and the world. Therefore we appreciate International initiatives which always seek to increase women’s freedom space and safeguard their rights for societies that respect women and we call upon all organizations, institutions and Governments to reject and oppose this outrageous act.
The National Association for Defence of Rights and Freedom – An Egyptian Association which created at 2005 and had Special consultative status in the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations at 2019 and work at the human rights and democracy in general, and Women’s rights have been an principal part of the work of the Association since its inception. So the Association calls on and contacted with UN-Women, the Special Rapporteur on women’s rights at the United Nations in Geneva, The High Commissioner for Human Rights, Congress, and the Government of the United States, European Commissioner for Equality to take all necessary measures to safeguard women’s rights in Egypt for violation of their public rights, and their right to expression, and insulting them in unacceptable way by the international community and to contravene all international norms and instruments in this regard.
